What is Quebec Self-Employed Program?

The Quebec Self-Employed Workers Program offers a route for those with a background in self-employment to immigrate to Quebec and start their own business. Criteria that must be met for program:

  • You must operate independently or collaborate with others, with or without paid assistance.
  • Prohibited sectors include payday loans, cheque cashing, pawn broking, pornography, sex industry services, and real estate.
  • You need at least two years of self-employed experience within the last five years, excluding work in restricted sectors.
  • For regulated professions, you must have authorization to practice in Quebec or have your qualifications recognized by the relevant regulatory authority.

  • Hold a diploma equivalent to a Quebec secondary school diploma obtained before submitting your application.
